Cottonwood Bark Church - 3-Day Seminar

INSTRUCTOR:  Aaron & Andy Mayer

SKILL LEVEL:  Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

ADDITIONAL COST FOR SUPPLIES: Additional cottonwood bark at additional cost, paid to the instructor

SUPPLIES INCLUDED: Project Cottonwood bark one per project. 

SUPPLIES NEEDED:  Carving knife & safety glove, 3/32 v-tool, needle file set (may be purchased from instructor for $10.00), Pin vise with small drill bits, 1/8 & 1/4 #1 chisels, 5/8 #7 U-gouge.  For Church class:  drafting compass, ruler & large metal file.

Aaron & Andy will be back for their fifth year of teaching at TWG.  The Mayer brothers have been published in Wood Carving Illustrated.  Together they have won several top prizes in carving competitions and have also been featured instructors at several woodcarving events.  Aaron & Andy will be working together to teach you the bark carving project of your choice.  Students will learn to design, carve, shape, and detail these fun projects.  Each will improve and give you new skills. Cost is $65.00 a day and includes materials. CHURCH:   This project may be a bit challenging, even for experienced carvers, but it will help take your skill to the next level. Students will begin with a piece of cottonwood bark cut out to basic shape of a church. You will learn new and different techniques to create your own customized details, using your own ideas or ideas from pictures of churches that will be provided.
